| The 4th of July ought to have special significance to Korea veterans. One of the enduring
remembrances and memorials of the Korea War is the oft stated reminder that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE! In a very real way the 4th of July, Declaration of Independence, and
the Revolutionary War established that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE in the
American spirit forever.
We kept the faith in Korea, and young soldiers are continuing to do so in KOREA, IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN,
and more than a hundred other locations round the world this Independence Day, 2007.
Thank you all for your service—for keeping the American heritage: FREEDOM IS
