The Brodeur family
As of now, to my knowledge he is the only Iraq war
veteran with TBI in a private hospital. The care he is getting at Spaulding is
outstanding and his injury was worse than previously thought. The swelling
in his brain has gone down dramatically but the injury left him unable to walk
or talk at present time. He still has a fixator on his left arm from the shrapnel
that shattered his arm. He is looking at surgery at Massachusetts General
Hospital in the near future to remove it and then back to Bethesda Naval to
reattach his cranium . It will be a long road to recovery and everything is
uncertain with brain injuries. We live life one day at a time..
for the support.
