This memorial is faced with 248 engraved bricks identifying local veterans who died during the Korean War. These include their names, rank, date of death and cause of death. They are grouped alphabetically by the county they came from. One of these was one of WV's four Medal of Honor heroes from the Korean War. There a small bronze plaque for him under the arch. There is also a small bronze plaque dedicated to Army nurse Col Ruby Bradley, who was known to be the most decorated Army female at the time she retired.
