In Memoriam...  Edward L. "Ted" Magill, LR03004, September 7, 2005

It is my sad duty to announce the death of Department of Florida President, Edward L "Ted" Magill. Ted's illustrious military career included service in Korea, 1950-51 in the Chosin Reservoir Campaign with the 31st Regimental Combat Team and was Past President of the "Chosin Few."

See message below in an email forwarded by Dept of FL 1st Vice President Bill McCraney, which he received from Ted's very close friend, Gordon Prentice. Ted's funeral will be on Friday, September 16, 2005 at the time and place shown in Gordon's email.

From Gordon Prentice, CDR, USN (Ret):

"I am sad to announce that Ted Magill passed away at 3:15PM today, 7 September. Funeral at 1:00PM, Florida Memorial Gardens, Rockledge, FL followed by reception at Indian River Colony Club".

Chapter Presidents, please make an appropriate announcement at your chapter meeting and in your newsletter. If there is additional information forthcoming, I will send it."

Ted Trousdale, Dept of FL 2nd Vice President commented: "Ted Magill was 1st Vice President and Judge Advocate of the National Korean War Veterans Association, Inc from 1998 to 2002. Past National Director Ted Trousdale observes that we two 'Teds', while on the KWVA Executive Council, usually thought the same, which usually resulted in the two of us voting alike, when something on the Council came to a vote."

Update on Services: "Memorial Services will be held for Ted Magill on Friday, September 16, 2005 at 1 PM in the Chapel of the Florida Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Rockledge, FL. A reception will follow at Indian River Colony Club. Flowers are fine, however the funeral home has suggested living plants as well. Memorial Gardens is located at 5950 South Highway 1, Rockledge, FL 32955. Ph: 321-636-5054".
