KWVA Board Decision on Name Change Proposal...

On March 27, 2015, the Korean War Veterans Association Board of Directors held their Spring meeting in Washington, D.C. One of the many topics of discussion presented to the Board was a proposal to change the name of the Korean War Veterans Association to the Korean Veterans of America Association. The reason for this change would be to help recruitment efforts in bringing Korean Defense Veterans to join the association.

After much research and expressed opinions, it was unanimously voted by the KWVA Board of Directors not to change the name of the Korean War Veterans Association.

It was highly recommended and unanimously agreed upon that all existing members and Chapters within the Korean War Veterans Association must continue to diligently recruit both new members, inactive members and Korean Defense Veterans into the association.

Respectfully submitted, James R. Fisher, Executive Director
