Aug. 7th is Purple Heart Day...

The Korean War Veterans Association, Inc. reminds all of its members that August 7th is Purple Heart Day - A day to Honor America's Combat Wounded and Fallen Heroes. All Americans should pause and remember the brave men and women who were either wounded on the battlefield or paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives.

The Purple Heart is awarded to any member of the U.S. Armed Forces that has been wounded or died as a result of a wound in battle. This includes those persons who died in captivity while a prisoner of war (POW). This reminder is placed on this website using the words of the Military Order of the Purple Heart National Headquarter for Immediate Release from their Public Relations Director.
