Subject: My Dad's Membership in KWVA

Hello Mr. Cohee,

I hope you are doing well. I am too. I wanted to inform you late that my father, a former member of your organization passed away. I am currently on leave at home in Ellensburg, Washington before returning to Baghdad, Iraq where I am serving as a civil affairs officer. While home I have been going through mail and found a renewal solicitation for my father to rejoin KWVA.

My father passed away in October 2003. He really enjoyed being a member of your organization and took great pride in being a Korean War veteran. He regularly wore his Korean War era uniform on patriotic holidays and memorial services - he even wore it to work, he was a university professor at Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. He also looked forward to the magazine that came from KWVA, I remember it being called "The Graybeards" right?

Well, again thank you for attempting to contact my father and invite his participation in your organization again. My fathers name/address/KWVA member number is:

Franklin D Carlson
Ellensburg, WA
KWVA member number R0xxxxx

Be safe and take care of yourself. I will try to do the same.

David Carlson
